Body Donation Process
There are many programs available that make sure of donated bodies. Body donation is something to look into if you would like to advance science upon your death. I understand that this may be too much for some people. You will not be able to have the body on display for a funeral in most cases and you must be cremated after the process. It is understandable for someone to not accept this. If you are alright with this though, then you should look into donating your body to science.
It does help to understand exactly what it takes to join a willed body program. It is actually a very easy process. The simplest way is to tell your next of kin that you wish to have your body donated. They can call a local medical research center to make the arrangements upon your death. That isn’t the most surefire way of achieving it though. If you really want to donate your body, you should make the arrangements ahead of time. You merely need to find a nearby medical center and inform them of your request. They’ll have you sign a paper and will usually give you a body donation card to make sure that your wishes aren’t forgotten. You should obviously explain your desire to your next of kin, any immediate family, and your attorney. This just cuts down on any confusion surrounding your death. Unnecessary delays can limit your usefulness in their program. If you also wish to be an organ donor, you should declare this with the willed body program ahead of time, so that they may work around your wishes.
